The risqué poster shows actor Daniel Craig with his arms wrapped around actor Rooney Mara, who is naked from waist up. However, the poster for the movie’s promotion in India will be censored with the movie’s release date pasted on Mara’s bare chest.

A source from the movie’s distributors, Sony Pictures India, confirmed that the poster version (without the release date) will not be used at Indian multiplexes, keeping in mind the sensibilities of family audiences.

The Hollywood Reporter predicts that director of the film, Fincher will have to hold back the risqué poster. “It’s black and white and beautiful, but there’s no way in hell any studio will ever let Fincher use it, as he knows,” the report read.

The movie is based on the first book of the best-selling Millennium trilogy by Swedish author Stieg Larsson — The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The book trilogy has sold over 50 million copies in 46 countries. Fincher’s adap-tation of the book hits the screens worldwide in December this year.
