I’ll do bhangra at the Oscars: Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra hopes Barfi! makes it to the final list, is already making plans for Academy Awards, reports Navdeep Kaur Marwah.

If the Gangs of Wasseypur guys wore a gamchha at Cannes, Priyanka Chopra plans to go a notch higher and do the Bhangra at Oscars. If her film Barfi!, which is India’s official entry to the Academy Awards, makes it to the final list that is. “If we manage to reach Oscars, I will surely do the Bhangra at the Kodak theatre. I am hoping for the best. I am so excited that I have already started to figure out my designer for the day we will walk the red carpet. Also, I want the jewellery to be Indian. Please wish us luck,” said the 30-year-old actor, who played quite the rockstar and DJ in Delhi on Thursday.

PC hopped from place to place in town as part of aggressive promotions for her debut music single, In My City featuring Black Eyed peas member Will.i.am. While at it, she tried her hand at the DJ console in clubs, threw CDs at fans (and cupped her hands apologetically when they happened to knock some people in the crowd), but chose not to do a live act. “You’ll have to wait for that,” she told the crowds, adding that she started her tour with Delhi as it’s close to her heart. “Delhi has always been special for me as I have loads of family here. It is the most familiar city after Mumbai. I am really hoping Delhi is lucky
for me.”

Asked about buzz that she will be seen in Salman Khan starrer Sher Khan, she shook her head. "I have not been approached for it. I’m doing Krrish 3, the Zanjeer remake, Milan Talkies and Gunday."
