Johnny Depp kicked ex-wife Amber Heard, tried to destroy evidence, ex-managers allege

Johnny Depp’s ex-managers allege that the star was physically abusive towards his ex-wife Amber Heard and consciously tried to hide evidence.

Johnny Depp’s ex-managers, with whom he is involved in a lengthy legal battle over misappropriation of funds, have said that he consciously tried to cover up evidence that pointed to him being physically violent towards ex-wife Amber Heard.

The managers are already fighting a case against him where they allege that Depp’s own extravagant lifestyle cost him millions and his reputation.

“(Joel Mandel, one of the managers), was informed well after the fact through communications with various house staff and security that Depp had been extremely volatile and had sometimes ‘gotten physical’ with Heard,” claim his ex-managers in legal documents filed in May, obtained by PEOPLE.

Heard applied for a restraining order a week after filing for divorce from the actor. The divorce was finalised in 2017. The incident being referred to in the documents, however, dates back to 2014, when the two weren’t married.

“Mandel was also later informed that Depp had violently kicked Heard during an incident that took place in or around 2014,” the docs say.

Screenshots of a text conversation between Heard and a man named Stephen (reported to be Depp’s assistant), were leaked and obtained by Entertainment Tonight. In the messages, Heard complains about a history of abuse and Stephen seems to admit that there have been incidents in the past - including the most recent, in which Heard was kicked.

Depp has denied allegations of abuse.
