Singer Rihanna, 24, has revealed that she wants to take a sabbatical from her music career in order to concentrate on launching herself as an actor. The pop star, made her big screen debut in board game-based blockbuster Battleship, alongside Liam Neeson and Alexander Skarsgard, playing a navy cadet who helps fight an alien invasion.

The Umbrella hitmaker is due to perform at a number of music festivals over the summer, including an appearance at Wireless in London’s Hyde Park in July.
“There are some festivals here and there throughout the year but I want to do some more films before I go back on tour,” said Rihanna, who hopes to try out comedy next. “I want to see where I excel. I want to try things — comedy and probably another action film,” she added.
