The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Robert Duvall will play a judge accused of murder in The Judge, a comedy-drama directed by David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers). Co-producer Robert Downey Jr. and Warner Bros studios have picked Duvall to play the title role after previously contacting Jack Nicholson about taking on the part.

Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. will star as a famous lawyer who returns to the small town where he was born to attend his murdered mother's funeral. He will then discover that his father, the town judge, is the prime suspect in her murder.
