Deadline.com has revealed that Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds will play the lead in the thriller Selfless.
Selfless will tell the story of an old man who is dying. Thanks to scientific progress and the character's wealth, he is able to save himself by transferring his memory into the body of a young man in his prime played by Ryan Reynolds.
The suspense in the film will stem from the downloaded hero's investigation when he finds out that the previous inhabitant of his body was murdered. His quest for the truth then becomes fraught with danger as a group of killers are sent after him.
Tarsem Singh will direct this project developed by FilmDistrict and Endgame Entertainment. The Indian director is known for his mastery of digital effects in movies like The Cell (2000) and more recently, Immortals (2011) and Mirror Mirror (2012).
