And interestingly, Cruise - along with co-star Anil Kapoor - is also likely to host the biggest-ever fan screening in Mumbai. The idea is to showcase MI:4 to the franchise's biggest fans, who will also get a chance to watch filmmaker Brad Bird's extravaganza before the rest of the world.

Tom Cruise

Around 1500 people are expected to be shown a first glimpse of Cruise's stunts, two weeks before the film officially releases in India. Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, who have the distribution and marketing rights of the film, are keeping the information under wraps.

When contacted, Kapoor - who plays Indian business tycoon Brij Nath in the film - confirms, saying, "Yes, the fan screening is on but it's too premature to talk about it in detail right now. We will see how things go."

Insiders involved with the movie's marketing suggest that the screening will be held at a suburban multiplex. Although Viacom 18 has decided upon a venue, a confirmation is awaited from Cruise and his team. The screening will most likely be in 3D.

MI:4 releases in India on December 16 in 2D and Imax-3D. The film, which marks the return of Cruise as secret agent Ethan Hunt, was extensively shot in Dubai, Prague, Moscow, Mumbai and Vancouver.

Earlier, Cruise had sent a crack team of specialists to Mumbai to create a docket on the city's facilities, including security, food and hospitality. For some time now, the actor has been showing keen interest in India and Hindi. Last week, he tweeted: "We are really looking forward to talk to our friends in India when Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol releases. Anil Kapoor rocks MI:4."
