franchise fought their way to the top of box office in both India and North America, industry estimates revealed.

X-Men: Days of Future Past, a time-bending movie already a hit with critics earned Rs 16.6 crore over the weekend in India. A paid preview held over the weekend earned Rs 60 lakh while the earnings over Friday, Saturday and Sunday were Rs 4.5 crore, Rs 5.4 crore and Rs 6.1 crore respectively, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.



The star-studded cast includes Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence. Meanwhile, in the US, the film debuted with an estimated $110 million. It released on Monday Memorial Day holiday, which is the unofficial kick-off of the summer movie season.
