After Blade: Trinity and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds, 34, continues with his superhero stint and will be back as Hal Jordan, the first human turned DC Comics superhero, Green Lantern. Bright green eyes, a formidable six-pack and a bright green unitard - he vows to keep inter-galactic order as the protector of peace and justice.
Thor
Date of release: May 6
Director Kenneth Branagh is bringing to the big screen the much-delayed hammer wielding Nordic God of thunder, Thor. While Chris Hemsworth plays the lead of a brawny and arrogant deity, who is punished to turn anthropomorphic, the epic also has Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Jaimie Alexander in pivotal roles.
X-Men: First Class
Date of release: June 3
Director Matthew Vaughn turns back time in this X-Men reboot to the early days when Professor Charles Xavier/Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) were the best of buddies. Throwing light on their genesis, the fifth installment in the X-Men series mostly consists of new faces and is set in the 1960s.
Captain America: The First Avenger

Chris Evans is taking his Human Torch stint from Fantasic Four a bit further as a physically unfit Steve Rogers, who volunteers to be transformed into a super-soldier, Captain America. Directed by Joe Johnston, the 3D outing shows him fighting Hitler’s head of advanced weaponry, Red Skull (Hugo Weaving).

Supposedly the Apocalyptic year, 2012 gets bigger with outings like Nicolas Cage-starrer Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (Feb 17), Andrew Garfield-led reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man (July 3) and highly anticipated, The Dark Knight Rises (July 20) that will see Christian Bale reprise his caped crusader role while Anne Hathaway will jump into tights as Catwoman. Others to save the day are Superman: Man of Steel, Deadpool and The Avengers.
