Two youths were crushed by a train while taking a selfie on the railway bridge on the outskirts of the Yamunanagar city on Tuesday.

According to the government railway police (GRP), the youths, who appeared to be between 18 and 20 years, were trying to take a selfie with the oncoming train on the bridge on the Western Yamuna Canal. “An eyewitness saw the two youths trying to click a selfie with the Jan Shatabdi and getting crushed under it,” said Yamunanagar GRP police station in-charge Suresh Kumar.
“It’s a narrow bridge with only a single track. The youths failed to judge the speed of the train and could not move away in time,” he added.
The police have sent the bodies for autopsy.” We are trying to ascertain the identity of the victims,” said Suresh Kumar. A case under section 147 of the Railway Act has been registered, he added.
