Five people were killed after a speeding SUV collided with a tractor-trolley carrying sand on the Gwalior-Jhansi highway in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. The SUV rammed into the trolley from behind.

Police superintendent Nagendra Singh Sikarwar said the bodies of the five were trapped between the SUV and the trolley, and a cutter had to be used to retrieve them. He added that the accident site is about 20 kilometres from the Gwalior district headquarters.

Police said the SUV belongs to Gwalior-based property dealer Umesh Rajawat. His son, Prince Rajawat, was driving the car when the accident happened. The four others killed in the accident have been identified as Kaushal Bhadoria, Aditya Pratap Singh Jadon, Abhimanyu Singh, and Shivam Rajpurohit. All of them were in their early 20s.
The five residents of Gwalior were returning to Gwalior from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. The tractor driver was absconding after the accident.
