Entry and exit at 57 Delhi metro stations will remain closed from tonight at 9 and will continue on October 10 until further notice in view of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)'s anti-CEC protest, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said on Friday.

It cited security reasons as it announced closure of 57 metro stations ahead of the CJP's anti-CEC protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday. Track live updates on how Delhi is bracing for CJP protest
“Due to security reasons, the entry and exit at the following metro stations will remain closed from 09:00 PM on 9th October, 2026 and continuing on 10th October, 2026 till further notice. However, interchange facility will remain available at all the concerned metro stations except New Delhi metro station,” the DMRC said in a post on X.

The following metro stations in Delhi will remain closed from tonight, with restrictions continuing on October 10 until further notice:

Security beefed up, Delhi Police issues advisory
The security arrangements in Delhi have been stepped up in view of the CJP's October 10 protest at Jantar Mantar. Additional 26,000 personnel of the of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) are being deployed in Delhi to work alongside the Delhi Police. This is the largest troop deployment in the national capital since the February 2020 assembly elections, the visit of US President Donald Trump and the Delhi riots.
So far, the Delhi Police have already restricted entry to Jantar Mantar with access to the protest site being denied to even media persons. A police officer present near Jantar Mantar denied entry to HT correspondent on Friday. The route has been barricaded from Ashoka Road-Jantar Mantar roundabout.
Road to Jantar Mantar from Tolstoy Marg-Sansad Marg intersection has also been barricaded as the police are making regular announcement through loudspeakers, informing people about prohibitory orders under 163 BNSS in force in New Delhi area.
Media persons have also been advised to maintain a safe distance from protesters and security personnel while covering the protests.
