A 60-year-old man was found dead in a farm in village Kherla in Sadar Sohna on Tuesday morning. Police said though the deceased, a farmer, had bruises on his arms and chest, the preliminary probe had ruled out the possibility of a murder.

According to the police, on Monday evening, Jagroop Singh had gone to his fields on his tractor and did not return. Some villagers noticed his tractor in the morning and found that he was lying motionless about a kilometre away from his tractor.
Sadar Sohna SHO Ramesh, who only uses his first name, said Singh had allegedly rammed his tractor into a pole and then probably collapsed in the fields after walking for a distance.
“Villagers said he was an alcoholic and had rammed his tractor into a pole once earlier. The left side of the chest has bruises and arms are folded, like in a foetal position. The injuries could be due to the impact of the suspected crash. We have ruled out the possibility of murder at the moment,” the SHO said.
According to Singh’s family members, he did not have enmity with anyone.
