Big Trinamool stir outside Assam hotel where rebel Maha MLAs are camping. Video
A huge protest erupted on Thursday afternoon outside the hotel in Assam's Guwahati where rebel Maharashtra leader Eknath Shinde has been camping with oher MLAs who are said to be supporting his coup against chief minister Uddhav Thackeray. The protest was led by Trinamool's Assam unit chief Ripun Bora, news agency ANI reported. Many other workers were seen raising slogans in the clip. Read more

Former Tamil Nadu chief minister O Panneerselvam has a reason to cheer after a division bench of the Madras high court, in a post-midnight hearing around 3:30 am on Thursday, restrained his party — the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) — from taking any decision on unitary leadership, just hours before its general council meeting. Bihar: Mob allegedly attacks police station; 19 cops including SHO injured

Citizen's initiative declares monkeypox outbreak a 'pandemic', urges WHO action
The World Health Network (WHN) - an independent coalition of scientists formed in response to the Covid-19 threat - said Thursday it considered the monkeypox outbreak a 'pandemic' and urged the World Health Organization (WHO) to make such a formal declaration. The WHN pointed to over 3,500 confirmed monkeypox cases in 58 countries and said the outbreak is expanding rapidly and 'will not stop without concerted global action'. Read more
