Heavy security arrangements were in place across Hisar, Sirsa and Fatehabad in Haryana on thursday ahead of
BJP national president Amit Shah’s rally in Jind.
The Hisar administration deployed additional forces at the Narnaud area, which is close to Jind district and is considered a stronghold of the leader of Opposition Abhay Singh Chautala.
Hisar deputy commissioner (DC) Nikhil Gajraj met duty magistrates, asking them to keep a strict vigil throughout the day. Gajraj has also imposed Section 144 of the CrPC in the area.
Several BJP leaders from the state began their journey to Jind at early in the morning to reach the rally spot on their registered motorcycles. Pawan Beniwal, a BJP leader from Sirsa, said, “We have told every rider to follow the traffic rules. The rally of Amit Shah is a one-of-its-kind rally.”
No invitation to Saini?
BJP MP from Kurukshetra Raj Kumar Saini did not reach Jind to attend BJP’s state level rally in Jind. Saini said he was not invited in time for the rally, in which about 1 lakh party workers are expected to attend. “They did not give me an invitation and I have decided to not attend the rally,” Saini told HT.

Saini is a vocal critic of the BJP government in the state for giving reservations to Jats and has previously slammed Manohar Lal Khattar for accepting demands of protesting Jat leaders.
