    Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday added 112 new Covid cases, which pushed the caseload to 10,51,559. No fresh deaths were seen and the toll remained unchanged at 10,762. The active cases in the state, meanwhile, stand at 1,297.

    Telangana minister writes to Union health minister Mandaviya; asks for 50 lakh Covishield doses

    Telangana minister Thanneeru Harish Rao requested Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya to supply 50 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine against Covid urgently to the state.

    "The state is administering about 1.5 lakhs doses per day. However, based on the demand there is a potential to administer over 3 lakhs precautionary doses which the state is not able to meet as there is a shortage of vaccine supplies, particularly for Covisheild," Rao wrote in his letter on Monday. 

    Rao pointed out that Telangana was receiving vaccines in small quantities only even after a continuous request from the state, due to which there had been an inability to ramp up vaccination from present levels.
