Maharashtra cabinet expansion highlights: PM Modi congratulates the new cabinet

Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the CM on June 30 after his rebellion against Uddhav Thackeray which led to the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra.

Today counts as the 40th day of the new Maharashtra government which has just two members, chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. Post the meeting with Shiv Sena MLAs this morning, Shinde-Fadnavis government is expecting a cabinet expansion at Raj Bhawan after multiple discussions with the BJP government in Delhi.

Active Covid cases dip, 3,947 cases reported in last 24 hours

The active Covid cases declined by 1,167 in a day while the number of people who recuperated from the disease increased to 4,40,19,095. The case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 per cent.
