Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders assembled at the Sahyadri guest house to discuss the names of the probable to be inducted into the state cabinet on Tuesday.

Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde is expanding his cabinet on Tuesday - 40 days after taking oath post the collapse of the Uddhav Thackeray-led government. The oath taking ceremony of the cabinet ministers is being held at the Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. Nine BJP leaders and nine Shiv Sena leaders are taking oath in the state cabinet.

Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the chief minister on June 30 along with Devendra Fadnavis - who took oath as the deputy chief minister.

There are over 40 berths in the state cabinet, however, not all are being filled in the first go.
