PANAJI: A 32-year-old masseuse in Goa was arrested on charges of rape after a British tourist accused him of inserting his finger into her during a massage, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on June 2 morning after the woman and her husband returned from a trek in Arambol village, a popular tourist destination 40km north of state capital Panaji. She filed a complaint with the Pernem Police on June 6, Monday.
A probe team led by inspector Vikram Naik arrested the man on rape charges.
Police identified the suspect as Joel D’Souza, 32, a local resident.
According to her complaint, the woman and her husband went on a trek to the Arambol freshwater lake, located a short distance from the main Arambol beach. The suspect was part of a group that was offering massage services to tourists.
During the massage, she alleged that D’Souza inappropriately touched her breasts and inserted his finger into her vagina, police said. The incident took place in the presence of her husband who did not realise his wife’s discomfort.
