The special investigation team (SIT) probing the Bihar State Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) question paper leak case may go in for polygraph tests of some of the arrested persons.
Investigators believe that some of the accused have been hiding crucial facts in the answer keys leak case. “If required, the secretary may also be put through polygraph tests,” said a senior police officer.
However, before approaching the court for permission to conduct polygraph tests, the SIT would explore all other options, including interrogation by making make the suspects sit face to face.
The biggest challenge for the SIT is to track the genesis of the question leak, which it has not been able to do so far. “But we have collected some vital leads and are working on them. Soon we should be able to get to the bottom of the matter. We will also send mobile phones and other hand-written answer keys to forensic science laboratory (FSL) for examination,” said the officer.
Meanwhile, Patna SSP Manu Maharaj said he did not receive any letter of the BSSC chairman, written on January 31 to home secretary, regarding suspension of internet services around the examination centres.
