All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has appealed to people to ensure peaceful Friday prayers, hours after suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader T Raja Singh was arrested for a second time for his remarks against Prophet Mohammed.

T Raja Singh was arrested on Thursday under the Preventive Detention Act, two days after being released on bail in the case about making the controversial remarks, which had triggered protests in Hyderabad and parts of Telangana.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad on Thursday, Owaisi said that the biggest demand of getting T Raja Singh suspended from the BJP and detained has been fulfilled.
"I also urge all of you to not raise any such slogans after the Friday prayers, which may hamper the country's harmony... Let peace prevail," Owaisi told reporters, news agency ANI reported.
"I urge all to ensure peaceful Friday prayers tomorrow," he added.

{{/usCountry}}On Wednesday, the AIMIM chief demanded that a strong case should be registered against T Raja Singh, so that this should be the "last time" that he makes remarks against Prophet Muhammad.
According to the Hyderabad Police, a total of 101 cases were registered against Singh who was "involved in 18 communal offences".
The police added that the suspended BJP leader had been habitually delivering provocative and inflammatory speeches" and "driving a wedge between communities leading to public disorder".
