At least six workers were injured after a fire broke out at a sheet metal manufacturing unit in the UIT Industrial Area of Bhiwadi in Rajasthan’s Khairthal-Tijara district on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) Shreeman Meena said police and fire brigade teams launched a rescue operation. The cause of the incident is being investigated, he added.
Officers said the workers sustained burn injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
The fire reportedly occurred at a company manufacturing iron sheets. “The blaze originated from an oil tanker placed on the roof of a neighbouring factory. The flames quickly intensified and spread to the adjacent unit, engulfing large sections of the factory premises,” a company employee, Ravi Rogha, said.
Three fire tenders were pressed into service to contain the blaze, with firefighters continuing operations for several hours. Workers were evacuated through the rear exit, while some climbed over the back wall to escape. Timely evacuation ensured that all employees were rescued safely, preventing what could have been a major industrial disaster.
Police personnel were deployed at the site to monitor the situation and assist rescue efforts.
