Gold prices today LIVE: Gold prices in India slipped slightly on February 26, Thursday. 24-carat gold was priced at ₹16,168 per gram, down by ₹21, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹14,820 per gram, lower by ₹20.

18-carat gold was quoted at ₹12,126 per gram, registering a decline of ₹16, as per Good Returns.

Gold prices today LIVE: Gold prices moved closer to $5,200 an ounce after rising nearly 6% over the past few days, as global markets remained nervous. Experts said investors are buying more gold because they are worried about world events and unsure about future economic decisions in the US.

So far this year, gold has gained nearly 20% and has stayed above $5,000 an ounce after briefly falling from a record high in late January. Ongoing global tensions are pushing investors away from the US dollar and towards safer options like gold. Spot gold rose 0.6% to $5,193.79 an ounce as of 12:48 pm in Singapore, while silver inched up 0.1% to $89.32.

Spot gold rose 0.4% to $5,192.28 an ounce by 0500 GMT, after touching a more than three-week high earlier in the week. Meanwhile, US gold futures for April delivery eased 0.3% to $5,208.80, reported Reuters.
