India Covid Cases: India records over 1,500 fresh Covid cases, highest in 146 days
India recorded over 1,500 fresh Covid cases, the highest in 146 days, health ministry data showed. New Covid infections logged stood at 1,590 while 910 recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, the data further stated. India's active caseload stands at 8,601.
The death toll went up to 5,30,824 with six more fatalities- three reported from Maharashtra and one each recorded in Karnataka, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. During the same period, the daily positivity was recorded at 1.33 percent while the weekly positivity was at 1.23 per cent. India's overall Covid tally climbed to 4,47,02,257 and active cases account for 0.02 per cent of the total caseload.
The national Covid recovery rate was recorded at 98.79 per cent, the data showed as the recoveries rose to 4,41,62,832. The case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 per cent.
The health ministry also informed that 220.65 crore doses of vaccines have been administered so far.
