The team appointed by the Jharkhand government to probe the assault case of Swami Agnivesh began its investigation.

The team, comprising Santhal Paragana divisional commissioner Pradeep Kumar and deputy inspector general (DIG) Raj Kumar Lakra, visited Pakur on Thursday and collected CCTV footage and other evidences from the spot where the incident took place.
The 78-year-old social rights activist, who was in Pakur on Tu- esday to address a tribal festival at Littipara Stadium, was allegedly thrashed by BJP youth workers. Agnivesh claimed the assailants punched and kicked him and tore his clothes. “We visited all the places connected to the case and gathered as much evidence as we could. We will visit the place again in a day or two for further investigation,” Kumar said
