Jilted lover stabs woman to death in Telangana day before her engagement
The factory worker had stalked the woman for six months before stabbing her to death a day before her engagement.
A jilted lover allegedly stabbed a 22-year old woman to death on Saturday at Yadagiripalli village of Yadadri Bhongir district in Telangana, a day before her engagement to another man.

Police said that M Gayatri, a final-year degree student in the famous temple town of Yadagirigutta near the village, was alone at her residence in the afternoon when Srikanth (27), attacked her and stabbed her six times in her abdomen. Her family members were out for making arrangements for her engagement ceremony on Sunday morning.
After the murder, Srikanth walked to the Yadagirigutta police station and surrendered. Neighbours who found Gayatri in a pool of blood informed her parents. They immediately shifted her to a hospital, but she was declared brought dead.
Yadagirigutta inspector P Raghuveer Reddy said Srikanth, a worker in a local plastic factory, had allegedly been stalking Gayatri for the last six months. But she rejected his proposals several times.
“She, however, did not tell her parents about Srikanth’s overtures fearing that they might not allow her to go to the college. Her marriage was fixed with a man from Hyderabad and she thought her troubles would end with the marriage. But, Srikanth developed grouse against her and resorted to this extreme step,” the police official said.
The police registered a murder case against Srikanth. Investigation is on.
