The three deceased, identified as Govinda Kalu Pawar, Vikas Jairam Mali and Roshan Dayaram Mali, were aboard the motorcycle when the rider lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the MSRTC bus, PTI reported.

The accident took place arond 11 am at Bhanwarpada Phata near Vanoli village on Taharabad-Satana road.

The deceased, all of whom were residents of Sukatman village, died on the spot of the accident, the report cited a Satana police station official as saying.

“The motorcycle hit the MSRTC bus, going from Nandurbar to Vasai in Palghar district near Mumbai, after the rider lost control of the two-wheeler. Traffic on the stretch came to a standstill for some time,” the official said adding that a case has been registered and a probe is underway.

A 39-year-old man and his daughter were crushed to death as a truck hit their two-wheeler on a highway in Maharashtra's Thane district, PTI reported earlier.

Rajesh Adhikari and his daughter Vedika, who was just 11 years old, were heading back home in Shahapur after visiting a relative's house for the Ganesh festival when a truck rammed into their two-wheeler on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway around 3 pm on September 5.

“The truck ran them over, killing them on the spot,” the report cited a police official as saying who added that a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act has been registered against the truck driver, who was arrested.
