‘Bakre Ki Amma’: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's veiled dig at Mahua Moitra
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had filed a complaint with Lokpal, alleging Mahua Moitra's parliament login credentials were accessed in Dubai.
Bharatiya Janata Party MP Nishikant Dubey on Wednesday took a fresh veiled jibe at Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, claiming that the Lokpal had initiated action against her in the ‘cash for query’ row.
Dubey, who had filed a complaint with the Lokpal on October 22, posted a Hindi phrase on social media platform X, while sharing a purported notification from the Lokpal on his complaint against the TMC leader.
The BJP MP from Jharkhand in his letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had alleged that Mahua Moitra had accepted bribes from industrialist Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in the Parliament. He had also alleged that Moitra's parliament login credentials were accessed in Dubai, tantamounting to ‘mortgaging’ India's national security.
On Tuesday, Union information technology minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in his letter to Dubey said that the National Informatics Centre, which manages Parliament and the members' portals, will ‘fully cooperate’ with the Lok Sabha's ethics panel in its probe into allegations against Moitra.
Responding to the letter, Moitra had posted on her X account,"Who is lying? 2 days ago Fake Degree Wala said NIC already given details including “Dubai” logins to probe agency. Now @AshwiniVaishnaw says NIC will give info in future IF asked by LS or Ethics Comm. BJP welcome to do hit job on me but Adani+Godda perhaps not best strategists!"
Darshan Hiranandani, in a signed affidavit, had claimed to have provided with Moitra the information on the basis of which she could pose questions attacking Adani Group in the parliament. He also claimed to have given her expensive gifts and that he underwrote the renovation of her ‘official bungalow’. Hiranandani also claimed to have accessed Moitra's login credentials so that he could post questions ‘directly' on her behalf.
Later, while speaking to a TV news channel, the industrialist said he signed the affidavit ‘voluntarily’ and without any fear or favour. When asked about accessing Moitra's login credentials, he called it ‘error of judgment’.
