‘Mission continues’: KCR, on federal front tour, meets Mamata. Delhi next

KCR, as the Telangana chief minister and TRS chief is popularly known, met Biju Janata Dal chief and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneswar on Sunday and is likely to meet Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav next .

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) said after meeting West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee on Monday that he will soon come up with a concrete plan for a non-Congress, non-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre.

The meeting came a day after the Telangana Rashtriya Samitichief met Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneshwar .

“A political dialogue has started following election results in five states. Yesterday, I had a meeting with the Odisha chief minister and today I met Didi (as Banerjee is popularly known). Dialogues are on. We are trying to settle issues of mutual interest as well as national policies,” said Rao, standing next to Banerjee.

His meeting with Didi lasted for over an hour. Rao described the formation of a non-Congress and non-BJP government at the Centre as his “mission”. Her meeting with Rao came three days after NC leader Farooq Abdullah met her in Kolkata.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has said it will not attend the meeting even if invited.

“She is scared of a disastrous result that she is inviting all opposition parties in Kolkata to confuse the people of Bengal,” said BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha.
