Nida Khan, key accused in sexual harassment case at TCS Nashik, arrested after 42-day hunt

Nida Khan is an accused in the alleged sexual exploitation and religious coercion case linked to the Tata Consultancy Services BPO in Nashik.

The Nashik city police arrested the absconding TCS-linked suspended BPO staffer, Nida Khan, from Sambhajinagar city on Thursday night, after a 42-day hunt. Nashik city police commissioner, Sandeep Karnik and assistant police commissioner (crime) Sandeep Mitke confirmed Nida’s arrest.

“The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Nashik city police and the Sambhajinagar city police had launched a joint operation to nab Nida,” said Karnik.

Police sources said Nida will be brought to Nashik city and produced in the local court on Friday. SIT, headed by Sandeep Mitke, swung into action to arrest Nida soon after an FIR was filed against her for allegedly hurting religious sentiments on March 26.

The SIT teams were deployed in Mumbai and its adjoining areas to nab Nida but she continued to evade the police, said Mitke in a press release issued in the second week of April. As part of its probe, SIT also questioned her husband about her location.

Nida is among the eight accused in the TCS-linked BPO case where nine staffers have accused their eight co-workers of sexual exploitation and religious coercion. While seven of the accused were arrested by SIT, Nida remained at large.
