Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, delivered a fierce speech and said that President Murmu's addressed seemed the same as the last time, alleging that it was the “same laundry list” of what the central government has done. He also spoke on the presence of Chinese troops in India and the “failure of Make-in-India” initiative, drawing massive fire from the treasury bench.

The day 3 of the ongoing budget session saw a series of chaotic moments in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Monday, February 3.

Opposition leaders started the proceedings with massive sloganeering against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath over the Mahakumbh stampede.

Slogans like ‘Modi Yogi down down’, ‘Modi-Yogi shame shame’ were raised in the Lok Sabha during the question hour.

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha debated the Motion of Thanks to the address of President Droupadi Murmu. Responding to the motion, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi made several critical remarks.

He claimed that Chinese troops were present in the Indian territory due to the "failure of the Make-in-India" initiative. He also raised questions over the alleged discrepancies in the Maharashtra assembly election and demanded that the Election Commission provide the voters' list.

Rahul's remarks drew ire from the BJP-led NDA parties.

Both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been adjourned till February 4, Tuesday, 11 am.

Amid criticism over the JPC report on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, the Chairperson of the Joint Parliamentary Committee, Jagdambika Pal said on Monday that the opposition is trying to push a certain agenda and has submitted a dissent note on 281 pages out of a total of 428 pages report.

Speaking to the media, Pal emphasized that they have prepared the final report after considering all the witnesses.

"Just like they (Opposition) tried to mislead the JPC by saying that if this bill is passed, all Waqf properties will be taken away, similarly, they are trying to push a certain agenda across the country and are attempting appeasement. In the continuous JPC meetings, we called everyone as witnesses, whether it was the Waqf Board, the Minority Commission, government officials, stakeholders, or Islamic scholars - we listened to all of them. We have prepared a 428-page report, which we have submitted to the Speaker," he said.
