Property dealer shot dead outside gym in Delhi's Narela; police scan CCTV footage

An officer said the incident took place at around 7am when the victim was outside the gym. The attackers allegedly opened fire at him and fled the spot.

A property dealer was shot dead by unidentified assailants outside a gym in Delhi’s Narela on Thursday morning, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Pramod, a property dealer who lived in the area, they said.

According to a preliminary probe, an officer said the incident took place at around 7am when Pramod was outside the gym. The attackers allegedly opened fire at him and fled the spot, police said.

A police team reached the spot after a PCR call was made and a probe began. The crime team was also called to the spot to examine the scene and collect evidence, officers aware of the matter said.

Police are scanning CCTV camera footage from the area to identify the attackers and establish the sequence of events.

Investigators are also questioning Pramod’s family members, friends and associates to ascertain whether he had received any threats in the past or had a dispute with anyone that could have led to the murder.

Police said the motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.

A case is being registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused, officers said.
