The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said on Wednesday that the Supreme Court verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute should be accepted by all.

The issue came up for discussion at a meeting in the capital where apart from the RSS top brass, members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad were present. BJP’s working president JP Nadda attended the meeting which is expected to go on till Thursday.

The major topic of discussion at the meeting was the possible fallout of the Supreme Court verdict in the decades-long dispute.

A statement issued by senior member Arun Kumar said, “The Supreme Court is expected to deliver its verdict on Ram Janambhoomi case in the next few days. Whatever be the verdict, everyone should accept it with open mind.”

The verdict is expected around November 17 which is the last working day of the outgoing Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi. “After the judgement, it is everyone’s responsibility that the atmosphere in the country remains cordial,” said Kumar.

An RSS member, on condition of anonymity, said that among the other issues that were discussed was also the state of the environment.

Meanwhile, a five-day Sangh meeting which was supposed to take place in Haridwar beginning Wednesday has been postponed.
