Six persons were killed and four others sustained injuries when a mini van which they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck in Andhra Pradesh’s Alluri Sitarama Raju district on Tuesday afternoon, the police said.

The incident happened at Boddugudem village of Chintoor block at around 3 pm. “The victims, who were yet to be identified, belonged to Chhattisgarh and were returning to their place after having a darshan of Lord Sri Ram at the temple town of Bhadrachalam,” a police official in Chintoor police station said.
He said the mini van, travelling at a high speed, rammed into the truck coming from opposite direction towards Bhadrachalam from Chintoor, while negotiating a turn at Boddugudem village.
“The van was badly mangled and the bodies were mutilated beyond recognition. The deceased include one woman and a boy. The remaining four injured were shifted to Chintoor area hospital for treatment,” the police official said, adding that investigation was on.
