A soldier was injured in a landmine explosion on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district on Monday.

“A soldier identified as Minter Singh of 21 Punjab Regiment was seriously injured in a mine explosion on the LoC in Mendhar sector.

“The injured soldier was immediately evacuated to Mendhar hospital for treatment,” said police here.

Landmines are used by security forces to secure infiltration-prone areas on the LoC.
