The accident took place near Bhawanipur close to Vishwanathganj under Delhupur police station limits when the bus driver, identified as Chakradhar (38), allegedly dozed off, causing the vehicle to lose control, hit the divider and overturn, the officer said.

Among the injured were Shraddha Pandey (38), her nine-year-old daughter Anandi Pandey, Sorit (16), Anka Giri (65), Yash (16), Sarita (52), Kamla (65), Pushpa (65), Ovi (9) and Uday Kumar (67), police said.

Police rushed to the spot and shifted all the injured to a medical college for treatment.
