A man surrendered to police near Hyderabad on Monday claiming responsibility for the murders of his wife, her mother and their daughter (4).
The bodies of Aparna (30), her daughter Kartikeya and mother Vijayalakshmi (55) were found in a partially decomposed state at their flat in Vemakunta Colony of Chandanagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Monday, police said.
Aparna’s husband Madhu surrendered to the Kukatpalli police claiming responsibility for the murders. He was handed over to Chandanagar police for interrogation.
While Aparna’s body was found near the kitchen door leading to balcony with her head smashed with some heavy object, the bodies of Vijayalakshmi and Kartikeya were lying on the bed, with signs of poisoning.
“The girl was found with the nipple of a milk bottle in her mouth indicating that she had died while sucking poisoned milk,” Madhapur deputy commissioner of police Vishwa Prasad said.
Police believe that the murders might have been committed two days ago, as Aparna had not been going to work at an electronics showroom for the last two days.
Neighbours told the police that Aparna, a native of Bhimavaram in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, had been married to Madhu five years ago, who works in a mobile repair shop at Kukatpalli.
However, she got separated from Madhu a few months ago, when she came to know that he was already married and had a daughter with first his wife. Since then, she had been living separately with her mother and daughter.

{{/usCountry}}“Madhu used to visit them frequently and quarrel with Aparna,” the neighbours told the police.
Of late, Aparna allegedly got into an affair with one Rooplal, a mobile shop owner. This had infuriated Madhu, who allegedly resorted to the killings, police said, adding that Rooplal was also absconding.
