To be organised on 32 acres of land on the northern bank of Brahma Sarovar, the rally's site was on Thursday inspected by INLD leaders Abay Chautala and Ashok Arora, and Parkash Singh Badal, the chief minister of Punjab and an old-time friend of Devi Lal.

Badal had reached Kurukshetra on Wednesday night. He is staying at International Guest House, Kurukshetra University.

Arora, the party's state president, said that arrangements had been made to ensure a hiccup-less function, and gave political overtones to the event: "The rally is of political importance as dissident Congress leader and Gurgaon member of Parliament (MP) Captain Rao Inderjit Singh will address the rally.

A member of legislative assembly (MLA) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will also be here." He, however, did not give the name.
