10 medicos lie in Trauma Centre

TEN MEDICOS, injured in the Nauchandai Express by personnel of the Police Training School, were admitted to the KGMU?s Trauma Centre on Monday evening. Nearly two-dozen other students were sent to hostels after first aid.

TEN MEDICOS, injured in the Nauchandai Express by personnel of the Police Training School, were admitted to the KGMU’s Trauma Centre on Monday evening. Nearly two-dozen other students were sent to hostels after first aid.

Dr Sharad Chandra (1999 batch) with fracture in the jaws and head injury, Dr Anant Verma (2000 batch) with head and cervical injuries and Dr Bhartendu (1999 batch) with head, cervical and thoracic injuries are in a critical condition.

Seven other doctors sustained injuries in their limbs.

Dr Sandip Kumar (2000 batch), Dr Radhey Shyam (1997 batch) Dr Ajay Shankar (1999 batch), Dr Ahmed Jamal (1997 batch), Dr Anurag Kumar (1998 batch) Dr DP Rai (2000 batch) and Dr Akhileshewar Rawal (1999 batch) were also admitted at Trauma Centre.

The students were brought at Trauma Centre by several teams of KGMU doctors including senior faculty and resident doctors. A critical care ambulance and several other vehicles were pressed into service for transporting the injured doctors to the Trauma Centre.

These include Dr Kashinath, Dr Arun Sachan, Dr Subhas, Dr Vandana, Dr Somani Dhawal, Dr Jatashankar, Dr Surabhi Chaturvedi and Dr Pravin Chaturvedi.

Dr Mohd Tajul is getting treatment at a private hospital in Rampur as doctors there said he could not be shifted. He was rushed first to the district hospital and then to a private nursing home.
