11 killed, 30 injured as tractor collides with truck

At least 11 people were killed and 30 injured when the tractor they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck at Sambhal near Moradabad, police officials said today.

The incident took place late on Saturday night and five people were killed on the spot while six others succumbed to injuries at the hospital, they said, adding bodies of the victims have been sent for post mortem.

The driver of the tractor was in an inebriated state and lost control over the vehicle, police said.

The injured have been admitted at a hospital are said to be out of danger and no arrests have been made so far.
