Two persons were arrested on Wednesday and others nabbed on Tuesday from Noida and Meerut, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Jyoti Narayan said.

"Besides Rs 4.25 crore of the ransom money, police also recovered the Swift Desire car and pistols used in the kidnapping of industrialist Kapil Gupta," Narayan said, adding that the two masterminds of the gang are still absconding.

Gupta was released on September 24 after three days of captivity. Police said, the same gang had kidnapped Gupta's chartered accountant Saurabh Jain about seven months ago. "Jain was released after a ransom of Rs 30 lakh was paid. Though computer sketches of two kidnappers were released by police but case was not solved then," Narayan said.

During interrogation, the abductors revealed that they had planned to kidnap a Muzaffarnagar trader and two more industrialists from Noida."One of the accused, Anshul, is the son of a policeman posted at Bisrakh. His role too is being investigated."

The SSP said the accused were arrested after police tracked the mobile phone calls of two suspects.

The kidnappers bought one Scorpio from the ransom money and kept the victim at a rented house in Greater Noida's Sector Gamma, he said.
