At least 12 people were killed and 50 injured in a head-on collision between two goods trucks on a highway about 100 km north of Bangladesh's capital early on Saturday, police said.

They said the accident occurred near the town of Mirzapur and all the victims were travelling in the trucks.
No other details were available.
