14 year-old leopard dies in Bannerghatta National Park

A 14-year-old leopard suffering from a respiratory disorder died at the Bannerghatta National Park in Bangalore on Saturday, a top forest official said. "Krishna, treated for a respiratory disorder for the past one month, had not been doing well and was on intravenous feed for the past 15 days. It succumbed to the illness today (Saturday)," chief wildlife warden B K Singh said.

The leopard which had been separated from its mother when it was only eight months, was rescued from a field in Tumkur in 1996 and brought to the park.
