14-year old, tutor dead as driving lesson turns fatal in Mumbai

A driving lesson involving a minor turned into tragedy after a car fell from a second floor parking lot at Nagpada on Wednesday.

The 14-year-old boy, who was being taught by his family’s driver, accidentally stepped on the accelerator, and drove his father’s Toyota Etios into the building’s lift shaft. The car came crashing down, killing the two instantly.

According to the police, Mohammad Hafiz Patel was being taught the basics of driving by Mohammad Javed, 32, around noon at Iqbal Height at Madanpura. An officer from the Nagpada police station said, “The duo were taken to Wockhardt Hospital, but both were declared dead before admission.” The police have registered an accidental death report.
