Fifteen persons were injured, including five policemen, and 38 arrested in Jaipur on Wednesday in a clash between two groups over possession of a building.

A clash erupted over possession of the Rajput Sabha Bhawan in Jaipur on Wednesday morning when 50 men, claiming to be members of the ad hoc committee of the Sabha entered the premises and allegedly tried to take possession of the building, police said.

"They clashed with Sabha members, broke down doors and also attacked the police personnel guarding the building with sticks," a police official said.

He said the police resorted to a baton charge to bring the situation under control and added 15 people, including five policemen were injured as a result.

So far 38 persons have been arrested in the connection, he said.

The general secretary of the Rajput Sahba also lodged an FIR in the Vidhyak police station alleging that some property of the office was broken and members of the ad hoc committee beat the guard and others.

A dispute is on between two groups for possession of the office.
