A total of 16 people, including nine Bangladeshi nationals, were apprehended on Sunday by the BSF along the Indo-Bangla border in Meghalaya.

Nine foreign nationals, hailing from Sylhet district of Bangladesh, and three Indians were apprehended near Dawki when they infiltrated into India without valid documents, BSF officials said.
The motive behind their intrusion was being investigated, they said.
In a separate incident, four Indian nationals were apprehended near Bholaganj border outpost, officials said, adding48 bottles of beer and 178 bottles of whisky were found from their possession.
BSF troops also seized large quantity of wooden planks, railway sleepers and oranges kept in two country boats when being smuggled near the riverine border of Gumaghat.
