THE CITY police on Friday arrested two of the accused in connection with the assault and the attempt to abduct Vinod Kirar near the Habibganj police station on Wednesday.
Half-a-dozen assailants had waylaid Kirar, who runs an eatery, on Wednesday and assaulted him. The accused had hit him with a country-made revolver’s butt on the head. They forcibly took him on their motorcycle but he somehow managed to break free later.

The police arrested Kashif alias Shanu, and Ziaul Hasan alias Jameel, both residents of Budhwara. Tanveer was arrested in the past. The hunt is on for the other accused. The main accused, Anil and two other co-accused, are still at large.
