Two pilgrims were killed and three seriously injured in a collision between a state-owned transport corporation bus and a van at Uthappanayakanoor near Usilampatti, 40 km from here, today, police said.

The TNSTC bus proceeding to Batlagundu from Usilampatti collided head on with the van, carrying pilgrims returning to Oddanchatram from Sathuragiri Hills after taking part in the Adi Amavasya festival yesterday.
The injured had been admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai.
