This week has seen two cases of rape being registered in Faridabad.
In the first case, an 11-year-old mentally challenged girl was raped repeatedly for nearly a month in Rajiv Nagar. The case, however, was filed only on Wednesday at the Sector 31 police station. The police have nabbed the accused, Ram Giri.
In a separate incident, Sunita (name changed), a resident of Neharpur area, was allegedly gangraped by Laxman, Jugal, Bijan of the area. A case was registered on Wednesday at the Bhupani police station in this connection. The police have also included two more persons, Laxmi and Neetu, as the accused apart from the three men.
According to the police, Sunita had run away from her home in April and had returned 15 days later. She chose to stay in a Nari Niketan, rather than going home. “She, however, returned home a few days ago and suddenly we received this complaint,” said Satvir Singh, SHO Bhupani police station.
"A hunt has been launched to arrest them," he added.
