2-yr child care leave in Uttarakhand

Coinciding with the International Women’s Day, Uttarakhand government on Tuesday announced a two-year child-care leave for state government women staff.

Coinciding with the International Women’s Day, Uttarakhand government on Tuesday announced a two-year child-care leave for state government women staff.

CM Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, “We have decided to give two-year child care leave to women employees of state government so that they could raise their children.”

The government plans to open a women university. Appreciating the Emergency Management and Research Institute ambulance service, Nishank said, nearly 82,000 women were provided timely medical care and a total of 2,167 children were given birth in ambulances. He also gave away cheques worth R25,000 each to two widows of armymen.
